For more than twelve years, the hair witches of 7th Street have been creating extraordinary hair in the heart of SoMa. We’re a queer-owned salon and a safer space for everyone: come as you are, and leave unmistakably you.

Our salon
You’ll find us at 219 7th Street, between Howard St and Folsom St on the edge of San Francisco’s Leather & LGBTQ Cultural District. It’s a neighborhood with a long history of people living out loud, and we fit right in. Founded in 2014, Hairetics Salon has never fit the mold: vivid color, locs and extensions sit alongside classic cuts and styling, and everyone is welcome in our chairs.
Our commitments
A safe space for all
We believe hair has no gender, so our prices are based on the time and products a service takes, not on gender. We completed Redken’s Safe Space certification and are listed as a Strands for Trans salon.
Green Circle certified
We recycle 95% of our waste through Green Circle Salons, so you get the same high-quality care with a lighter environmental footprint. More on our sustainability.
Powered by clean energy
The salon runs on electricity from CleanPowerSF, San Francisco’s not-for-profit clean energy program. More on our sustainability.
Professional products
We use and recommend Pureology, Redken, Mizani, Olaplex and K18, with a Redken-certified color specialist and educator in-house, plus Dollylocks organic products for locs.

Alchemy

the medieval forerunner of chemistry, based on the supposed transformation of matter. It was concerned particularly with attempts to convert base metals into gold or to find a universal elixir.
