On Sunday, October 25, Hairetics hosted an event close to our hearts: a day of gender-affirming haircuts for trans youth, in partnership with LYRIC Center for LGBTQQ+ Youth, with every cut supporting LYRIC’s housing for transitional-age youth, ages 18 to 24.
Hair is one of the first ways we show the world who we are. A cut or style that finally feels like you can change how you walk out the door, and every young person who sat in our chairs deserved that feeling.
My favorite part of the day was seeing how happy every guest was, with both the experience and the haircut they walked out with. Everything ran so smoothly, and we all worked together so easily to give our guests a beautiful experience.
This day took a whole crew. Grace (@shadedfadedfoils) and I (@heather_hairetic) were joined by two amazing stylists from Steel and Lacquer, Jenna Lynn (@hairbyjenna.lynn) and Bethany (@bethwardscissorhands). Thank you both for sharing your talent and your Sunday with us.
